Apparently I'm not well, so says the American Journal of Psychiatry (quoted in the P&J). I send what might be regarded as excessive texts and emails. I do feel withdrawal when I can't get online. I do also upgrade to newer computers from time to time.
But wait, isn't this called Living In The Modern World? (image from here)

But it doesn't define what is 'excessive'. You may send a large number of extremely necessary emails and text messages. Where necessity is defined by urgency, importance and alcohol consumed. Many of my text messages are sent while drunk, inspired by the very necessary urge to be hilariously funny, extremely flirtatious and/or the desire for immediate attention.
Also like how 'sexual preoccupations' slips in there as a symptom of illness. How terribly Victorian.
